All Personal Effects Will No Longer Be Exempt From Duty And VAT

Dear Valued Client,

We are writing to inform you of a significant change in our policy that has been influenced by the recent adjustment in the Fiji government budget. Effective immediately all personal effects will no longer be exempt from duty and vat. This means that customs will now charge Vat for goods classified as personal effects goods.

Kindly note : if total of goods is less then $1,000.00 is subject to VAT only, if total of goods  is above 1,000.00 is subject to Duty and VAT.

The exemption that was previously in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic is longer applicable. We kindly request that you disseminate this information to all our personal forwarder to ensure they are aware of this change.

In addition, the pre-inspection procedure will no longer be applied. We now require the owner of the goods to be present during the inspection and Vat at the same time.

We will require all agent/ consignor to please provide a proper packing list with the value of good being sent to Fiji.
